I'm not gonna lie, don't expect regular updates for a while, I got exams to do- but I will try.
ANYONE HEARD OF BIRDY? You'll see from my last post (on the old blog, just to confuse ya) that I have some serious love for Bon Iver, and no one can make their songs more magical, but Birdy sure did a good job of trying.
Fell in love with this cover the first time I heard it.. then listened about 50 more times (i'm talking with my iPod repeat playing it, not listening now and again) and just cannot get sick of it. Her voice is magical and fit so well with the LUSH lyrics from Bon Iver. I challenge Bon Iver fans to listen and not tell me she did good.
Speaking of covers... Aloe Blacc doing 99 Problems @ R1 Live Lounge was pretty mega. I don't really like his single I need a dollar, but was v. into the Jay Z cover.
I'M WELL BEHIND... like two months behind. But Noah and the Whale's new album? WOW. Not that I'm surprised... they never fail to be wonderful in my eyes. So, this was just a brief, extremely random summary of some music I'm into. At the moment. My taste and favorites tend to change frequently. But not NATW. They're always up top.
I'm going to a clothes sale this weekend. Gonna spend all my money on other peoples old stuff... perfect. Going to have a major search for some summer stuff as my wardrobe is becoming gradually more uninspiring now the winter has gone.
Gotta go, waiting and praying for a call from my own God, Zane Lowe, telling me I just won R1 Big Weekend tickets to see NATW, The Strokes, The Vaccines and so on....
